Running Accomplishments:

I ran the St. George Marathon a couple summers ago and at that time I was in very good shape and all I did was run everyday, I'd say I did fairly well in the race.

Well, I ran a 5K last Saturday and it was a very rude awakening of how out of shape I have gotten over the past year.  I don't want to talk about how slow I ran it, but I have set a goal now to get back in shape.  I like running when I'm  not huffing and puffing and wanting to die the whole time.  I play soccer every week which I love, and go running maybe two times a week.  I have been really good at making excuses as to not run lately, not sure what my problem is, but I intend to get better and go everyday.

My husband runs too, and of course he is must stronger and faster. I have issues with over competitiveness so I sometimes has a difficult time running with him although I know it pushes me.

Short-Term Running Goals:

I want to do a the Icebreaker Triathlon next March and do as many 5K's and 10K's as I can until then!

Long-Term Running Goals:

Eventually I would like to run another marathon and finish in a respectable time.  I don't want to just "finish it", but I want to be somewhat fast.:) I want to be active my whole life, even when I'm old and after kids etc...

Personal:

I am married to my wonderful husband Kyle, going on 9 months.  I just quit a very stressful job, and I'm going to start working at a charter school this Fall.  I like sports a lot and the outdoors.  No kids yet, but I want to start a family fairly soon.

I ran 4 miles tonight, just on the treadmill at about a 8.35/mile pace.  Not really fast, but I didn't stop so that's good.

Welcome to the blog. Best of luck getting back into shape. I agree with you that running every day is the best place to start by far.

YAY, I am so happy with myself, I ran 6.5 miles tonight in 57 minutes.  Still kind slow and steady but I pushed myself and didn't stop to walk.  I kind of slacked off last week with the running.  Didn't run Wednesday but I had a soccer game so at least I had some exercise and I ran on Thursday and Saturday of last week, but had no motivation on Friday to run.  I'm hoping I get the motivation down.  I made a schedule to run in the mornings now, before work.  Kind of early to get up, but it will be good to get it done for the day. bye.

uh, k.  So I just realized I started this whole thing two weeks off and logged my miles two weeks ahead of the real dates.  I guess I was just looking at the DAYS and not the DATE oops.  okay, so TODAY I ran 6.5 miles, not on the 5th. I ran it in 57 minutes which I'm pretty happy about. Still pretty steady and slow but I didn't stop to walk.  I've decided to run in the mornings before work, even though it is way early, it'll be good to get it done at the beginning of the day. bye.
